Work was interrupted in 1943 due to the Second World War and was finally completed in the postwar period.

Following a public competition, a jury presided over by Marcello Piacentini chose the design by architects Giovanni Guerrini, Ernesto La Padula, and Mario Romano. The structure, which the authors had consistently intended to be made of masonry, was built in reinforced concrete for reasons of economy and time, and covered with travertine slabs; on the sides of the two opposing staircases are the four sculptural groups of the Dioscuri by Morbiducci and Felci, while under the arches of the first level are 28 marble statues depicting arts and human activities, celebrating the Italian genius.

During the Universal Exhibition, the building was intended to house the Exhibition of Italian Civilization and, subsequently, to be transformed into a permanent museum of Italian civilization. This is the source of the famous inscription visible at the top of the building: “A nation of poets, artists, heroes, saints, thinkers, scientists, navigators, and transmigrators”.

The "Square Colosseum," with its rational and metaphysical architecture, has become the backdrop or reference for many films, from Rossellini's *Rome, Open City* to Antonioni's *L'Eclisse*, from Fellini's *8½* to Peter Greenaway's *The Belly of an Architect*, up to Brizzi's *Notte prima degli esami*.

A small piece of Italian rationalist architecture to keep at home, elegant without being intrusive.

3D-printed object made of eco-sustainable PLA, with internal weight to ensure stability, provided with a box.

⏳ Made to order
Production time: 5 working days
Delivery in Italy: 3 days after shipping
International delivery: about 10 days after shipping

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0984/4156/0388/files/palazzo-della-civilta-italiana-scultura-in-3d-12-cm-il-colosseo-quadrato-di-roma-3333726.jpg?v=1790190329
https://www.betonbrutale.it/en/products/palazzo-della-civilta-italiana-12-scultura-palazzo-eur-stampato-in-3d-edificio-roma-regalo-per-architetti-designer-appassionati
